This weekend just gone I worked for about 30hrs straight, covering the 100k walk from London to Brighton in aid of Blind Veterans. I had actually walked this last year and it's one of those occasions when I think that having had that personal experience actually made me able to document the event more sensitively. The main issue really is understanding how everyone is feeling and by about the 75k mark, everyone is generally feeling a bit rubbish and it's time to back off as a photographer. And to be honest, I probably wasn't feeling at my perkiest either by then! This pic was taken just after the 50k mark - these guys had just donned their head torches for the first time after the dinner stop. I loved their expressions.
